NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt says that the decision is made because the show 'didn't fit in the grand scheme' of the network's schedule.

AceShowbiz - Jessica Alba and Gabrielle Union's new TV partnership has suffered a setback after NBC network bosses passed on their "Bad Boys" spin-off "LA’s Finest". The actresses teamed up to shoot a pilot for the police drama in March, just weeks after Jessica became a mother for the third time, but company officials have since decided not to move forward with the series.

"These are all tough calls," NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt told Deadline.com. "We did have an embarrassment of riches. And when we laid out the schedule and the calendar all season... it was a show that didn't fit in the grand scheme of it."

Despite the NBC snub, all is not lost. The project is currently being shopped to other networks.

"LA's Finest" centres on Special Agent Syd Burnett, Gabrielle's free-spirited character in 2003 movie "Bad Boys 2", as she starts a new life as a Los Angeles detective and is partnered with working single mum Nancy McKenna, played by Jessica.

The series reunited Union with "Bad Boys" franchise producer Jerry Bruckheimer, while the two leading ladies also serve as executive producers on the show.
