AceShowbiz - Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance at the New Jersey Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Sunday, May 6, as he helped to honor his bandmate Steven Van Zandt. The rock icon introduced his longtime E Street Band guitarist at the Asbury Park event, a decade after Springsteen himself earned a spot in his native state's record of hometown heroes, and poked fun at Steven's eclectic fashion sense.

Calling him "the only man I know besides Hugh Hefner who has figured out how to spend his whole life in his pyjamas", Springsteen added, "Though born in Boston, Massachusetts, there is no purer distillation of the Jersey ethos than Little Stevie Van Zandt."

The pair also teamed up to perform "I Don't Want To Go Home" by Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, for which Van Zandt previously served as a band co-leader.

The New Jersey Hall of Fame celebration also honored Debbie Harry, Gloria Gaynor, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and Meryl Streep, who had to skip the ceremony as she is busy filming the second season of hit drama series "Big Little Lies".
