AceShowbiz - Katee Sackoff is heading back to space on a new series on Netflix. The "Battlestar Galactica" alum will be headlining "Another Life", a sci-fi space drama that has been given a series order by the streaming giant.
Created by Aaron Martin ("Slasher", "Degrassi: The Next Generation"), 10-episode "Another Life" will see Sackhoff playing an astronaut named Niko Breckinridge who heads up a young crew on a mission to explore the origins of an alien artifact. Their investigation soon turns dangerous on "what might very well be a one-way mission."
"Another Life" marks the reunion between Sackhoff and Netflix. The actress, who is most known for her role as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace on "Battlestar Galactica", previously starred on "Longmire", which final three seasons were produced by the streaming giant after A&E shockingly canceled it after season 3. In addition to "Battlestar Galactica" and "Longmire", Sackhoff's credits include "The Flash". She recurred on The CW series as Amunet Black.
Back to "Another Life", the upcoming series is executive produced by Noreen Halper, whose credits include award-winning series "Alias Grace" and "Rookie Blue". Martin is also attached as showrunner. Halfire Entertainment, which produced "Alias Grace", will be producing "Another Life".
"Another Life" is the latest sci-fi projects from the streaming service. The series joins "Altered Carbon", "Lost in Space", "Mute", "Stranger Things" and "The Cloverfield Paradox". Among sci-fi series that are set to be released later this year on Netflix are "The Rain" and series finale of "Sense8", which is schedule to arrive on June 8.
