AceShowbiz - Weeks after releasing "In My Blood", Shawn Mendes finally premiered a music video for the first single off his forthcoming effort on Tuesday, April 24. Directed by Jay Martin, the video features the Canadian singer lying on the ground while belting out the heart-rending pop-rock ballad.

Delivering the song appears to be difficult for Shawn as rocks, snow and rain pour down on him. "Help me, it's like the walls are caving in/ Sometimes I feel like giving up/ No medicine is strong enough," he sings. "Someone help me/ I'm crawling in my skin/ Sometimes I feel like giving up/ But I just can't."

The end of the clip sees the "Stitches" hitmaker still lying on the ground as the sun eventually comes out and flowers grows around him. It's the perfect representation of the phrase, "After the rain comes a rainbow."

Shawn released "In My Blood" in on March 22. Hours later, he followed it up with another new track, "Lost in Japan". Both songs are expected to be included on his upcoming third album, which still doesn't have a title or a release date.

In an interview with Zane Lowe of Beats 1, he opened up about how the song details his experiences with anxiety. "It was kind of something that hit me last year. Growing up. I was a pretty calm kid," he said.

"I knew people who suffered from anxiety, found it kind of hard to understand, and then when it hits you, you're like, 'Oh my God, what is this? This is crazy,' " the 19-year-old singer continued, "That song is complete truth and the best thing about it is, it's not all down. The whole reason I wrote this song was to be like, at the end, 'It's not in my blood to do that.' "
