AceShowbiz - Stacey Dash is officially entering politics. The actress, who has been hated by many African-Americans for her controversial comment about the #OscarsSoWhite boycott in 2016, is running for Congress in California.
The 51-year-old talk show host filed paperwork on Monday, February 26 to run in California's 44th district, which is currently represented by Democrat Nanette Barragan. She has not issued an official statement regarding his Congress run, but she did tease it on Twitter earlier this month.
"A number of people online and off have suggested I run for political office," the outspoken Republican and Donald Trump's supporter tweeted on February 9. "I wanted to see what my online community thinks of this idea as I mull the possibilities. Thoughts?"

She hinted that it's getting real as she tweeted again on February 22, "Things are taking shape," and followed it up the next day with, "Soon."
Many Twitter users have since responded to Dash's Congress run, with majority of them questioning whether she has the quality to be a candidate. "I think I just saw Stacey Dash, running for congress, and Compton in the same tweet so I am going to assume that was a mistake," one wrote.
"Stacey Dash apparently wants public confirmation of how much black people don't like her," another commented, adding, "Stacey Dash could run against Unseasoned Chicken & Seinfeld Reruns in North Long Beach & Compton and still lose."
Some others expressed their reactions in memes, using a scene from her former show "Clueless" as well as posting GIFs of people laughing.

Stacey landed in hot water after calling the #OscarsSoWhite boycott in 2016 "ludicrous" and saying there was no need for Black History Month. At the 88th Academy Awards, host Chris Rock brought her to the stage to poke fun at her controversial statement, introducing her as the Academy's new director of "minority outreach program."
"I cannot wait to help my people out. Happy Black History Month," she said with giggles. "Thank you." The audience didn't find it funny though, as they responded with silence while she quickly exited the stage.
