Four days ago, Adam Levine took to Instagram to tease Maroon 5's "Wait" music video. The band premiered the said music video on Wednesday, January 17 after the track was featured on Spotify's "Today's Top Hits" playlist the day before.

The pop rock band took an unusual approach for the music video, which features Levine performing the song through a seemingly endless variety of Snapchat filters in different locations in his house. No filter is left unturned as Levine is seen rocking rabbit ears and giant glasses. He also sports a dog face and a koala face. His wife Behati Prinsloo makes a brief cameo in the clip.

"Can we talk for a moment/ Got these feelings that I'm tired of holdin' on/ Wasn't tryna get wasted/ I needed more than three or four to say this, oh," he rhymes. "You say I'm just another bad guy/ You say I've done a lot of things I can't undo/ Before you tell me for the last time."

This isn't the first time Maroon 5 has used Snapchat filters to promote their music. The cover art for their latest album "Red Pill Blues" is also inspired by filters featured on the image-messaging platform. "We all use Snapchat, and the filters have become a huge part of the culture," Levine told Billboard. "We thought it would be funny to take some more straight-ahead band photos and sprinkle in a little turn."

"It's like, a part of the zeitgeist now," lead guitarist James Valentine added, hinting that Levine is quite the avid Snapchatter. "Adam and his wife, they just love trading photos when they're touring and stuff. They're always doing those filter faces to each other. So I think it rose out of that. Adam always has fun with that."

"Red Pill Blues" was released on November 3, 2017. The effort debuted at No. 2 on Billboard 200 chart. In support of the album, the band will embark on a North America tour starting from May 30 to October 15, 2018.
