Jack Antonoff has moved on from Lena Dunham as he has found himself a new love following their recent split after together for about five years. According to a source, the three-time Grammy-winning singer/songwriter is now "seeing someone else."
"The relationship is done and he has moved on ... as in he is seeing someone else," the insider tells Us Weekly, before revealing that his new love is a musician.
While the 33-year-old Bleachers frontman has found someone new in his life, Dunham is "focusing on herself and her work," according to the source. And despite their split in December, the "Girls" star only wants the best for her ex. "Lena doesn't wish him ill will. He was her first love. Their split was mutual," explains the insider.
News of Dunham and Antonoff's split broke on Monday, January 8, and the Lenny Letter creator briefly addressed their breakup during an Instagram Live the next day. "I'm wearing this ring that Jack gave me ... and I'll always wear it," she told her online followers. "Because love is a really cool, powerful, eternal thing. It doesn't have to be defined the way, we in Western culture, define it as beginnings and ends," she added.
The "American Horror Story: Cult" actress also posted a message about "starting over" after news of her split broke. "Starting over is the beautiful moment where you choose yourself," so read the quote she posted Tuesday via Instagram.
Dunham and Antonoff, who started dating after a blind date in late 2012, were seen attending their last public event together at a Grammy pre-party in February 2017. In October, the Golden Globe-winning actress penned an essay about her then boyfriend.
"It's safe to say that before Jack my life was full of far fewer sights," she wrote in part of the essay for Variety. She shared that the lead guitarist of Fun. "showed me the importance of making political statements using your public platform. He showed me the joy of collaboration."
