AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift's longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff has inadvertently stirred the pot of rumored tensions between Swift, Billie Eilish and himself. During an interview with Today, Antonoff discussed his songwriting process.
"It's hard to write unless you're really compelled," he said. "And sometimes what compels you is way more serious things." Antonoff added, "You don't hear a lot of great songs about, like, one's lunch order. So the things you don't really understand and cause you pain are usually things worth writing about."
Some fans of Billie Eilish interpreted Antonoff's comment as a subtle jab at her song "LUNCH" from her album "HIT ME HARD AND SOFT". However, many fans pointed out that "LUNCH" is not actually about the subject of eating but rather about same-sex love.
Despite the unlikely connection, the interview sparked a debate among fans on social media. Some saw Antonoff's use of the word "lunch" as "oddly specific," especially given the recent controversy surrounding Eilish's criticism of the music industry's environmental practices.
In March, Eilish criticized the use of multiple vinyl variants to boost album sales and chart rankings. Although she denied targeting any specific artist, feud rumors grew when her album competed against Swift's "The Tortured Poets Department" for the top spot on the charts in May.
As Swift released remixes and bonus editions of "TTPD" to maintain its position, Eilish made more pointed comments. She described concerts over three hours as "literally psychotic" and expressed disinterest in attending such events.
While the alleged feud remains largely speculative, Antonoff's recent comments have added fuel to the fire among fans. Nonetheless, it remains to be seen whether the rumors hold any truth or if the trio can mend any perceived differences through collaboration.
