AceShowbiz - Nominations for the 23rd Annual Critics' Choice Awards were announced on Wednesday, December 6. The list sees FX's "Feud: Bette and Joan" leading the pack as it nabs six nods, including Best Limited Series and Best Actress in a Movie Made for TV or Limited Series for star Jessica Lange.
Trailing behind the FX anthology series are "Fargo" and HBO's "Big Little Lies" with five nominations each. The two series and "Feud", alongside "American Vandal" (Netflix), "Godless" (Netflix) and "The Long Road Home" (National Geographic), are all vying for Best Limited Series. Meanwhile, "Big Little Lies" stars Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon are set to face against each other in best actress for limited series category.
As for Best Comedy Series category, a slew of long-running comedy series powerhouses dominate the nomination with "The Big Bang Theory" (CBS), "Modern Family" (ABC) and "Black-ish" (ABC) making it to the list. They are joined by Netflix's "GLOW", Amazon's comedies "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and "Patriot".
This year's overall nominations hog goes to Netflix as the streaming giant gobbles up 20 nominations for "The Crown", "American Vandal", "Stranger Things". HBO follows with 15 nods, while FX and ABC nab 13 and 12 nominations respectively.
The 2018 Critics' Choice Awards will broadcast live on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 8 P.M. on The CW. The award-giving event will once again be held at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
