'Incredibles 2' Teaser Trailer Breaks Record for Most-Viewed Animated Film Trailer

The brief clip of Parr family's youngest member, Jack-Jack, showing his arsenal of superpowers sets online record.

AceShowbiz - To say that Pixar fans have been patiently waiting for "Incredibles 2" is such an understatement. The first teaser trailer for "The Incredibles" sequel which came out on Saturday, November 18 has earned over 113 million views. The number makes the approximately one minute clip the most-viewed trailer for an animated film of all time and the seventh most-viewed trailer debut of all time.

The clip doesn't reveal anything regarding the plot, but it shows little troublemaker Jack-Jack who uses his laser beam emitting eyes to make the film's logo. The scene is then followed by the toddler, held by his proud dad, Bob, sneezing and unintentionally bursting out his multi-power. He burns his dad's hair using his laser eyes and then cackles at his dad's bald patch.

The number of views strongly indicates that "Incredibles 2" is in demand for so long. It has been 13 years since the first film hit theaters. Given the fact that "The Incredibles" was released in the middle of Pixar's "Finding Nemo" (2003) and "Cars" (2006), which were two huge successful films at that time, "The Incredibles" quickly slipped from audience's attention.

It could be because the first film was Pixar's first animated film to receive a PG rating due to action violence or the film didn't exactly appeal to younger audiences who prefer films about talking cars or fish. Nevertheless, the sequel is a long-awaited film that Pixar fans have been dying to see. Given the current hype for superhero films, "Incredibles 2" is guaranteed to have a much stronger response from audiences than its predecessor.

The film's teaser trailer may be featured again before Pixar's new feature, "Coco", is played in U.S. cinemas on November 22. Disney's 20-minute short film "Olaf's Frozen Adventure" will also be played prior to the Mexican holiday-based animated film.

"Incredibles 2" is set to arrive in U.S. theaters on June 15, 2018. The film's release date was switched with that of another long-awaited Pixar sequel, "Toy Story 4", which was initially planned to open in theaters next year. A trailer for the toys-come-alive film may be released within a year, probably before "Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2" which is set to hit domestic theaters on November 21, 2018.
