Carrie Underwood Suffers Multiple Injuries After 'Hard Fall': 'I'll Be Alright'

The 'Jesus, Take the Wheel' singer breaks her wrist after she 'took a hard fall on some steps outside her home,' her rep says.

AceShowbiz - Carrie Underwood is recovering after a hard fall at her home. The country music singer was taken to hospital after she took a tumble on Friday, November 10, two days after she hosted the 51st annual CMA Awards in Nashville, and suffered a broken wrist and other injuries.

"On Friday night, Carrie Underwood took a hard fall on some steps outside her home," her rep says in a statement. "While there were no life-threatening injuries, she was taken to the hospital to be treated. She sustained multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall."

The rep adds that Carrie's husband Mike Fisher "was able to make it back into town that night to be with her and she was released from the hospital. Her recovery will take some time and she appreciates all prayers and well wishes."

The former "American Idol" winner and her husband, who recently retired from the NHL, live in Nashville with their 2-year-old son Isaiah.

After news of her accident broke, the 34-year-old star took to her social media accounts to thank her fans for their well wishes. "Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody...I'll be alright...might just take some time...glad I've got the best hubby in the world to take care of me," she wrote.

Due to the injuries, Carrie was forced to cancel her performance at the Country Rising benefit concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Sunday night, The Tennessean reported.

Carrie released her last album "Storyteller" in 2015. Boasting such hit singles as "Little Toy Guns", "Heartbeat" and "Dirty Laundry", it has sold more than 750,000 copies in the U.S. and more than 1 million worldwide.

In 2016, she was honored as one of CMT Artists of the Year. She is featured in Keith Urban's song "The Fighter" which was released in February this year.

She also announced early this year that she would be taking some time off at the beginning of the year to spend time with family. She will release her second concert DVD, "The Storyteller Tour: Live from Madison Square Garden", on November 13. As for a new album, she has not officially announced it yet.
