The 'Florence Foster Jenkins' actress says that her decade-old interview about her encounter with her former 'Kramer vs. Kramer' co-star is not accurate.

AceShowbiz - Meryl Streep backtracked on her claim that her former "Kramer vs. Kramer" co-star Dustin Hoffman inappropriately touched her. She said to E! News that it's not "accurate rendering of that meeting." Her rep added, "There was an offense and it is something for which Dustin apologized. And Meryl accepted that."

Back in 1979 in an interview with TIME, Streep made unfavorable comments about Hoffman. "He came up to me and said, 'I'm Dustin - burp - Hoffman,' and he put his hand on my breast. 'What an obnoxious pig,' I thought," the 68-year-old actress said back then.

Meryl Streep's old interview about her first encounter with Dustin Hoffman resurfaced after the actor was accused of sexual harassment. A woman claimed that he made crude comments and groped her on the set of his TV movie "Death of a Salesman".

The woman told The Hollywood Reporter that Hoffman harassed her in 1985 when she was a high school senior doing a production assistant internship. She was 17 back then. She tried to complain but she got scolded by a female supervisor instead.

"I have the utmost respect for women and feel terrible that anything I might have done could have put her in an uncomfortable situation. I am sorry. It is not reflective of who I am," the 80-year-old actor apologized in response to the accusations.

Dustin Hoffman joined the growing list of Hollywood big players caught up in sexual harassment scandals. After Harvey Weinstein fell from his grace, Chris Savino was fired by Nickelodeon, Roy Price resigned from Amazon, and Tyler Grasham was terminated from Agency of the Performing Arts due to due to similar issues.

Other Hollywood figures facing sexual misconduct allegations include director/writer James Toback, "House of Cards" star Kevin Spacey, director/producer Brett Ratner, "Entourage" star Jeremy Piven, and "Gossip Girl" alum Ed Westwick. Earlier this year, FOX News also parted ways with Roger Ailes, Bill O'Reilly and Eric Bolling due to misconduct.
