The 'You Raise Me Up' singer takes to Twitter to reveal the close call with terrorist attack in lower Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon, writing that he 'heard gun shots and ran with my dog.'

AceShowbiz - A terror attack shook up New Yorkers on Tuesday, October 31 and Josh Groban was among those experiencing the fear from the act. The 36-year-old singer revealed he was in the area when the attack took place that afternoon.
He took to Twitter to give an account of the incident. Groban was walking his dog when the attack took place. He first wrote, "Oh my god I just heard gun shots and ran with my dog. Downtown. F**k."

He followed it up with "I hope everyone's ok. Was half a block from me, didn't see it but heard 8-10 quick rounds fired off. Be safe with your kids out there."

"I'm shaking. That's the corner I was supposed to have my coffee but my dog pulled me into the park half a block away 10 min before shooting," he shared, adding a link to news about the shooting.

He later shared a video capturing first responders on the scene. "Once I got far enough away I took this video of the quick response from our amazing NYPD and NYFD," he wrote along with it.

The suspect, a 29-year-old man, deliberately drove a pickup truck into a bike path and struck several people in Lower Manhattan that afternoon, before getting out with imitation firearms. He was shot by police before taken into custody. At least eight people are dead and more than a dozen were injured.
"Devastated for the victims and their families tonight & inspired by the spirit of this city. Sirens and trick or treaters everywhere," Groban tweeted after hearing about the victims.

Other celebrities have also reacted to the terror attack. Taylor Swift posted on Instagram Stories a picture of New York's skyline and wrote on it, "I love you New York," adding a broken heart emoji.
Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted, "NY, I love you so much. You are strong and full of everyday heroes and I love you. We'll get through today and tomorrow and the next one."
