AceShowbiz - Josh Groban is poised to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 6, just two days before the launch of his upcoming album Cinematic. This new album features a collection of classic film songs and coincides with his performance at the Grammy Hall of Fame Gala, where Warner Records, his record company, will be recognized.
Groban will receive the 2,843rd star on the Walk of Fame at 11:30 a.m. PT. The ceremony will take place at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard, right in front of Amoeba Records. For fans unable to attend, the event will be streamed live on www.walkoffame.com. The star will be awarded in the recording category, highlighting Groban’s achievements in music.
Several close friends and collaborators of Groban will speak at the ceremony. Among them is David Foster, who mentored Groban early in his career and produced many of his hit albums. Josh Gad, a longtime friend from their shared time in Carnegie Mellon University's musical theater program, will also address the audience. Additionally, actor and comedian Ben Schwartz, who worked with Groban on the 2013 comedy film Coffee Town, will participate. Notably, Foster himself was honored with a star in 2013 in the recording category.
The event will be emceed by Ellen K, a prominent iHeart Media personality who earned her own Walk of Fame star in 2012 in the radio category. Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame, stated, "The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to welcome singer Josh Groban to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Josh has this incredible way of connecting with people through his music. It's been amazing to watch his journey over the years."
Groban, 45, boasts three number-one albums on the Billboard 200: Closer (2004), Noel (2007), and All That Echoes (2017). Over the years, he has earned five Grammy nominations, including three for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. His latest project, Cinematic, produced by Greg Wells, is a 10-track compilation featuring songs from beloved films such as The Godfather, Casablanca, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Stand by Me. This album could potentially bring him back into Grammy contention.
In addition to his music career, Groban has earned two Tony Award nominations for Best Actor in a Musical, for his roles in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 and the 2023 revival of Sweeney Todd. He also holds two Primetime Emmy nominations: one for co-hosting the 2018 Tony Awards alongside Sara Bareilles, and another for co-writing a song featured in the show.
At the upcoming 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala on May 8, Foster and Teddy Swims will perform in honor of Warner Records, which is set to receive the Visionary of Music Award. The gala will take place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, and is presented by the Recording Academy and the Grammy Museum.
Recently, Groban completed his GEMS World Tour, and in June, he will embark on a North American tour with special guest Jennifer Hudson. Later in the year, he will return to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for his Las Vegas residency, Josh Groban: GEMS.
Beyond his artistic endeavors, Groban is deeply committed to arts education and philanthropy. His Find Your Light Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of young students by promoting arts, education, and cultural awareness.
