'Riverdale': Get the Details of Betty's Long-Lost Brother Chic
TV

The casting breakdown for the character states that Chic 'is tough, resourceful, rough around the edges, and distrustful of new people.'

AceShowbiz - Just a few days ago, it was reported that season 2 of "Riverdale" was set to feature Betty's long-lost brother Chic Cooper. And now, casting details of the character have been unearthed, offering more details about Chic, who is probably the eldest of the Cooper children.

According to That Hashtag Show, Chic is described as a blond male in his mid-20s. "Growing up in the foster system, then living on his own since he was 18, Chic is tough, resourceful, rough around the edges, and distrustful of new people," the casting breakdown reads.

Chic is further depicted as "a survivor" who "knows how to look for himself." However, "his mysterious past is a secret only he knows. Chic didn't finish high school, hustles to scrape together a living on the fringes of society. There's a darkness to Chic that is both sexy and scary."

While fans now know what direction that the TV adaption of Archie Comics will take on the character, it is still early to predict who will play the recurring role. In addition, there is no actor who has been rumored to have auditioned for the role just yet.

Back in season 1 finale, Betty learned that her mother Alice got pregnant with her first child in high school and she gave the baby son up for adoption. Given his upbringing, Chic will most likely have different traits from Betty and Polly.

In the comics, Chic is depicted as someone with strawberry blonde hair. Debuted in "Little Archie" in 1960s as a teenager, the character mainly shows up when the young teens need an adult chauffeur. This probably will not work on the TV series though, since Archie and his friends are much older. The most interesting part from Chic is that he is a secret agent working for the government.

"Riverdale" season 2 premieres on Wednesday, October 11 at 8 P.M. on The CW.
