AceShowbiz - Camila Mendes struggled to film with ex-boyfriend Charles Melton. The 29-year-old actress shared screen with Charles, 33, on "Riverdale", and Camila has confessed to feeling awkward about playing the on-screen love interest of her ex-boyfriend.

"Obviously, right when [a break-up] happens, it's hard and it's emotional. It's the worst," Camila shared during an appearance on the "Armchair Expert" podcast.

"But it's hard because the timing of the show. Anytime we started to hook-up off set and knew that something was brewing, our characters would start dating. But they didn't know. No one knew. The writers would just naturally make it happen."

The celebrity duo had an on/off relationship for years. However, they called it quits for the last time before the final season of "Riverdale" and Camila was able to enjoy her last season on the hit TV show.

The brunette beauty explained, "When we came back for the last season, there was a definite air of, zen, we're past it, and we worked together a lot as well but not in a romantic capacity. It went super smoothly last season. I think the whole last season felt different."

The "Riverdale" cast all came together in an effort to enjoy the last season of the show. She said, "It's like, this is the last time we're all going to be together in this room. Who knows when something like this will happen again."

Camila is now dating Rudy Mancuso - her co-star in the new rom-com "Musica" - and she recently took to social media to celebrate Valentine's Day.

The actress wrote on Instagram, "My valentine [rose emoji] as soon as he wrapped musica, he flew all the way to the UK to support me while filming upgraded. edited all of musica remotely from our little hotel room in leeds. He visited me on set almost every day just to give me a kiss and watch me do my thing. i love you @rudymancuso thanks for showing up in the most meaningful ways. lucky to be your valentine [heart emoji] (sic)."
