Emma Stone Joins Ryan Gosling to Mock 'La La Land' on 'Saturday Night Live'

‘I mean, I was like, 'Me? Ryan Gosling? A white kid from Canada?' I guess I can try and save jazz,' the 'Blade Runner 2049' actor said during his monologue.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Gosling kicked off season 43 premiere of "Saturday Night Live" by reminding people that he saved jazz. During his monologue, he bragged about the fact that he saved the "dying" jazz, making fun of his own movie "La La Land", which was criticized for presenting Ryan's character as a savior of the jazz genre.

"I haven't felt this excited since I saved jazz," Ryan said after walking out on stage. "I mean, I did this movie 'La La Land' and then everyone was saying I saved jazz. I guess it was dying and I saved it."

"I was the last person who thought he would save jazz," he continued. "I mean, I was like, 'Me? Ryan Gosling? A white kid from Canada?' I guess I can try and save jazz. So I did."

Before the "Blade Runner 2049" star further continued with his jazz-splaining, Emma Stone, his "La La Land" co-star, made a surprising guest appearance. "Can I speak to you just for a second?" she told Ryan.

"What are you doing? You didn't save jazz. How many times have we talked about this?" Emma asked, to which Ryan answered, "A lot." Emma's response was epic though. With a smile and a cigarette on her hand, she said, "You didn't save jazz. We saved jazz."

Debuted in 2016, "La La Land" was a critically-acclaimed flick and won six Oscars, including one for best actress category for Emma. It followed Sebastian (Ryan) and Mia (Emma), who are drawn together by their common desire to do what they love. But as success mounts they are faced with decisions that begin to fray the fragile fabric of their love affair, and the dreams they worked so hard to maintain in each other threaten to rip them apart.
