'I'm a reader. I always have a book,' the 'Big Little Lies' star says on the red carpet of Emmys, claiming that she doesn't have time to watch TV.

AceShowbiz - Shailene Woodley received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie thanks to her portrayal of a young mom on "Big Little Lies", but the love doesn't reciprocate. The actress practically dissed TV watchers as she said that she doesn't own a TV.

"I haven't had a TV since I moved out of my parents' house when I was 18," she told E! News on the red carpet at the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards. "All my friends who watch TV, I just ask them when they have time to. When do people have time to?"

The "Divergent" movies star added, "I'm a reader, so I always read a book instead of turning on my TV."

Many were offended by Woodley's comment. "Shailene do you know what the Emmys are," one Twitter user asked.

"Shailene Woodley asking who has time to watch TV is that annoying girl who reminds the teacher to collect the homework at the end of the class," another responded.

One other comment read, "Shailene Woodley telling the E! News guy she doesn't watch E! because she reads just replenished me."

Another tweeted, "Shailene Woodley just shaded people who watch TV all the time at a TV awards show where she's nominated for being in a TV show."

One other similarly wrote, "I continue to not get Shailene Woodly. Shes talking about not understanding how anyone has time to watch TV while on the #Emmys2017 carpet."
