AceShowbiz - Shailene Woodley has opened up about the lingering emotional impact of her relationship with ex-fiance Aaron Rodgers. In an interview with Outside magazine, the 33-year-old actress confessed that discussing Rodgers still brings tears to her eyes. "I haven't shared much because it always makes me cry," she admitted. "It was not right. But it was beautiful."
Woodley and Rodgers' whirlwind romance began in 2020, with their engagement announced in February 2021. However, they split up in February 2022 and briefly reconciled before a final separation in April of that year.
Revealing her vulnerability, Woodley described a traumatic experience in early 2022, which she linked to a period of depression. "I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy," she said.
Woodley attributed her depression to her tendency to empathize deeply, which led her to stay in a "toxic situation." She credited her stylist and best friend Kris Zero for helping her overcome her depression through a series of activities, including surfing, volunteering and cleaning up trash.
Woodley also addressed the challenges of dating someone famous, noting the scrutiny and public attention that came with her relationship with Rodgers. She expressed her discomfort with the level of interest in their personal lives.
Since their breakup, Woodley has remained private about her romantic life, focusing instead on her career and personal growth. Rodgers, on the other hand, has reportedly moved on with model Mallory Edens.
