The 'Now or Never' singer says 'a woman can be multi dimensional' after she was criticized for posing for Playboy.

AceShowbiz - Halsey reacted to a fan who slammed her for posing for Playboy. The singer graced the cover of the mag's newest issue, rocking a see-through pink tank top. Her nipples were covered by her name strategically printed across her chest. "You are a feminist but you flash your boobs in Playboy magazine," read the critical comment.

"Yeah it's crazy. I can show my t**s in Playboy, perform at the Nobel Peace, speak at the Planned Parenthood Gala with Hillary Clinton, shake my a** on 300 stages, give a speech at the United Nations, do 150 shots of tequila, get a #1 album, and march in the streets of DC all in just ONE year! Newsflash. A woman can be multi dimensional #WeAreNotJustOneThing," Halsey responded. She then screen-captioned it and added in the caption, "JUST so we are f**king CLEAR."

In her cover story, the pixie-haired star talked about dealing with haters, "When a society is inclined to get negative, that frequency spreads across everyone. Everyone's looking for a fight. There is a fight to fight, but some people are picking the wrong one and fighting people who are on their side. And everyone has become a detective."

She also opened up on her struggle growing up as biracial. "I'm half black," she said. "I'm white-passing. I've accepted that about myself and have never tried to control anything about black culture that's not mine. I'm proud to be in a biracial family, I'm proud of who I am, and I'm proud of my hair."

She continued, "One of my big jokes a long time ago was 'I look white, but I still have white boys in my life asking me why my nipples are brown.' Every now and then I experience these racial blips. I look like a white girl, but I don’t feel like one. I'm a black woman. So it's been weird navigating that. When I was growing up I didn't know if I was supposed to love TLC or Britney."

Besides Playboy, Halsey was featured on the cover of Billboard magazine along with fellow singer Charli XCX. She addressed sexism in music industry, "There's a skepticism behind female artists in general. From when I first started, I wrote [my music]."

Charli chimed, "And people were like, 'Oh, who wrote your songs?' There's so much doubt, especially with being a pop star and being a female. Taylor Swift, amazing songwriter. Katy Perry, amazing songwriter. Lady GaGa, amazing songwriter." Halsey added, "People want to discount them."
