AceShowbiz - Fans have to wait a little bit longer for the "Pacific Rim" sequel. "Pacific Rim Uprising" release date has been delayed again, being moved back a month from February 23 of next year to March 23, Deadline reports.
The movie from Legendary and Universal Pictures had been on a clear weekend previously, but now it will face a tough competition. Lionsgate's "Robin Hood: Origins" starring Taron Egerton will be released on the same weekend, and Steven Spielberg's "Ready Player One" from Warner Bros. is set to be released a week before.
Directed by Steven S. DeKnight from a script he wrote with Emily Carmichael, Kira Snyder and T.S. Nowlin, the movie is based on a story by Guillermo del Toro. John Boyega leads the cast, with Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny and Jing Tian taking other roles. The sci-fi monster movie also sees the return of Charlie Day as Dr. Newton Geiszler, Rinko Kikuchi as Mako Mori, and Burn Gorman as Dr. Hermann Gottlieb.
