Charles Curtis "Tuc" Watkins III, born on September 2, 1966, is an American actor who has built a versatile career across daytime television, primetime dramas, and film. He is best recognized for his long-running role as the scheming yet endearing David Vickers on the soap opera One Life to Live, as well as his memorable stint as Bob Hunter on the hit series Desperate Housewives. With a knack for playing complex, often comedic characters, Watkins has become a familiar face to audiences over the past three decades.

Raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Watkins developed an early interest in acting and pursued it academically, later moving to New York City to study at the prestigious Juilliard School. After graduating, he began his career in theater before transitioning to television. His first major break came in the early 1990s when he joined the cast of One Life to Live as David Vickers, a role he played on and off for nearly two decades. Watkins’ portrayal of the charmingly manipulative con artist earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase, making David Vickers one of the most iconic characters in daytime soap opera history.

Beyond daytime television, Watkins expanded his repertoire with guest appearances on popular shows such as The West Wing and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In 2008, he landed a recurring role on Desperate Housewives as Bob Hunter, a gay lawyer who becomes a key figure in the lives of the show’s main characters. This role marked a significant career shift, allowing Watkins to showcase his range in a primetime comedy-drama. He later appeared in the 2017 film The Mummy as Mr. Burns, and in 2018, he joined the cast of the Showtime series Black Monday as Congressman Roger Harris, a corrupt politician. Watkins also demonstrated his comedic talents in the series The Other Two, playing the character Troy, and took on a dramatic role in the film adaptation of The Boys in the Band, where he portrayed Hank, a man navigating his relationship amidst a tense gathering of friends.

In 2022, Watkins starred in the Netflix series Uncoupled alongside Neil Patrick Harris, playing Colin McKenna, a charismatic real estate agent navigating life after a breakup. The show, created by Darren Star, received positive reviews for its sharp writing and performances. Throughout his career, Watkins has balanced his work in television with stage performances, including a role in the Broadway production of The Boys in the Band. Known for his professionalism and ability to bring depth to both comedic and dramatic roles, Tuc Watkins remains a respected figure in the entertainment industry, continuing to take on diverse projects that highlight his enduring talent.
