The 'Colossal' actress says she and her 1-year-old son Jonathan narrowly escaped injury when they played on a slide at a park in New York City earlier this week.

AceShowbiz - Anne Hathaway has just experienced an unforgettable moment with her son Jonathan. When appearing on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Monday, April 17, the "Colossal" actress revealed she and her son narrowly escaped injury when playing on a slide at a park in New York City earlier in the day.

"We had a great day today. I took him to a park...and he loves swings," Hataway began. "And I noticed all these other kids were coming down the slide, and it looked like an unusual slide," she explained to host Jimmy Fallon. "Like, maybe it was built before they had child safety measures in place."

"It was gorgeous, and I noticed the kids weren't going that fast, so I said, 'OK, I'll bring Johnny on,' " she continued. "So I get to the top of the slide - and just for any girls in the audience, [I was] in a skirt, which was dumb - so I pull the skirt around me and I put Johnny there, and we're going down the slide, and now the moms are watching."

"But what I hadn't thought about was physics," said the 34-year-old Oscar-winning actress. "So you have a 35-lb. child going down, it's one speed, you have me and my son, it's like ... not 35 lbs., so we just go around the corner and instead of slowing down like the other kids, we speed up."

"It starts to go so fast and all the moms are watching and I'm so self-conscious," she continued. "As it speeds up my thoughts slow down and I just look ahead and I get very serious and very focused and just think, 'I must stick this landing.' "

She could laugh about it now, but she admitted she panicked in the moment. "You know when you almost killed your child, but you didn't. In the inside you're like, 'Everything's OK. Walk it off, walk it off,' " she shared. "Then we went back to the swings and stayed there forever."

Hathaway and her husband, actor Adam Shulman, welcomed Jonathan in March 2016. During her appearance on the show, the "Les Miserables" actress revealed that her son's "cruising - he can walk with assistance, but not on his own quite yet."
