AceShowbiz - "Homeland" season 6 premiere arrives early. Showtime has made the first episode of the Emmy-winning series' new season available on the Showtime streaming service, Showtime On Demand, and Showtime Anytime 17 days ahead of its scheduled debut.

The sixth season of "Homeland", which adds Elizabeth Marvel, Dominic Fumusa, and Jake Weber among others, picks up several months after Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) thwarted a terrorist attack in Berlin, with Carrie living in Brooklyn and working at a foundation that provides aid to Muslims living in the U.S.

The entire season will tackle the after-effects of the U.S. presidential election, which in the "Homeland" universe ended with a woman elected to the office for the first time in the country's history.

Offering a premiere episode early is nothing new to Showtime subscribers. Previously, "Billions", "Shameless", "The Affair", and "Masters of Sex" have all received similar treatment from the network.

"Homeland" will officially return to Showtime on January 15 at 9 P.M. ET.
