Lindsay Lohan Tries So Hard to Make 'Mean Girls 2' Happen
Movie

The 'Mean Girls' lead actress is asked whether she has any interest in appearing in another comedy movie, and she reveals that she has written a 'Mean Girls 2' treatment.

AceShowbiz - Lindsay Lohan desperately wants to reprise her role as Cady Heron for "Mean Girls 2". Back in 2004, the 30-year-old actress played a high school student who found herself in the middle of a conflict created by a group of popular girls in "Mean Girls".

"I have been trying so hard to do a 'Mean Girls 2'," she says during a Facebook Live session for CNN. "It is not in my hands. I know that Tina Fey, and Lorne Michaels and all of Paramount [Pictures] are very busy. But I will keep forcing it and pushing it on them until we do it."

In case the writers run out of idea for the possible sequel, Lohan has written a treatment for the sequel. "I have already written a treatment for it. I just need a response. I know Mark Waters, the director; he'd happily come back," she says. She goes on sharing that for the second movie, she wants to do "an older version when they're all housewives and they're all cheating."

Lohan also reveals her dream cast for the proposed sequel. "I would love to have Jamie Lee Curtis, Jimmy Fallon in the movie," she says.

Her co-stars have previously expressed their enthusiasm about returning for a sequel as well. Rachel McAdams, who played Regina George, said that she would come back if writer Tina Fey returned. Daniel Franzese, who was Damian in "Mean Girls", tweeted to Lohan that he wanted to return.

But Fey has her own opinion. At the movie's 10th anniversary event in 2014, Fey said that they shouldn't do a sequel. "At the time we did want to start the conversation about the sequel, and for whatever reason, I was like, 'No!!! We shouldn't do that!' " she said. "Now I look back and I'm like, 'Why?' But now, no-it's too late now." Fey is currently working on "Mean Girls" musical in which Lohan is not involved.

The standalone sequel of "Mean Girls", titled "Mean Girls 2", was actually made in 2011, but mostly without the involvement of the original cast and crew. It was released as teen comedy television film starring Meaghan Martin, Jennifer Stone, Maiara Walsh and Nicole Gale Anderson.
