Kacey Musgraves Slammed for Wanting People to Have Guns After Orlando Shooting

The 'Biscuits' singer said in a now-deleted tweet that everyone should be 'carryin a revolver' so 'anyone walking in to disturb the peace might maybe think twice.'

AceShowbiz - Kacey Musgraves got criticized for sharing a pro-gun tweet in the wake of the mass shooting in Orlando. A day after the Saturday, June 11 tragedy, the country singer suggested in a Twitter post, which she later deleted, that people should carry guns to prevent others from messing with them.

Musgraves first expressed her sadness over the incident, which killed 50 people and injured more than 50 others. "Crying as I read about Orlando. I can't believe it. I don't understand. And especially at such a happy place!? Feeling sick," she wrote.

She followed it up with her controversial opinion, saying in another post that she wished people could "go back to saloon days where every muthafu**a is carryin a revolver and anyone walking in to disturb the peace might maybe think twice."

Some of her followers then blasted her, leading Musgraves to remove the tweet and clarify her remark. "Look. Emotions are high today. Mine included. Just hating hate. Lots of opinions in the mix. LOVE is the only true answer. Hard subject tho," she wrote in other tweets. "All I know is something isn't working. Thats all. I love y'all and my true intent is peaceful."

But her clarification wasn't enough for some of really upset fans. "You're tacky & monstrous to make a saloon joke about a mass shooting. the only words you should be saying are 'I'm sorry,' " one fan tweeted. "No one wants to hear your thoughtless, careless stance on guns. Stick to writing s**tty songs about biscuits and gravy," wrote another.
