'Maze Runner 3' Pushed Back to 2018 as Dylan O'Brien Is Still on the Mend After On-Set Accident

'The Maze Runner: The Death Cure' is postponed for nearly a year to allow the main actor more time to recuperate from his on-set injuries.

AceShowbiz - Fox decides to delay "Maze Runner: The Death Cure". The third and final installment of "The Maze Runner" franchise is postponed for nearly a year from February 17, 2017 to January 12, 2018 as the main star, %cDylan O'Brien%, continues recovery.

"The Death Cure" suffered major setback after O'Brien suffered serious injuries in an on-set accident. He was hit by a car while filming the movie back in March. The accident happened when he was in a harness on top of a moving car and was suddenly yanked off the vehicle.

The movie directed by Wes Ball has since shut down production and hasn't set a re-start date. O'Brien was initially expected to return to the set this month, but the plan was axed as his injuries were more serious than initially believed.
