'The Maze Runner: The Death Cure' is postponed for nearly a year to allow the main actor more time to recuperate from his on-set injuries.

Fox decides to delay "Maze Runner: The Death Cure". The third and final installment of "The Maze Runner" franchise is postponed for nearly a year from February 17, 2017 to January 12, 2018 as the main star, Dylan O'Brien, continues recovery.

"The Death Cure" suffered major setback after O'Brien suffered serious injuries in an on-set accident. He was hit by a car while filming the movie back in March. The accident happened when he was in a harness on top of a moving car and was suddenly yanked off the vehicle.

The movie directed by Wes Ball has since shut down production and hasn't set a re-start date. O'Brien was initially expected to return to the set this month, but the plan was axed as his injuries were more serious than initially believed.
