Warner Bros. and MGM have finally found a director for the reboot of the adventures of Lara Croft.

"Tomb Raider" reboot has finally gotten a director after more than five years in development. According to THR, Warner Bros. and MGM have tapped Roar Uthaug ("The Wave") to helm the reboot of the adventures of archaeologist Lara Croft.
Meanwhile, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who penned the Black List script "Hibernation" and is co-writer in "Transformers 5", is currently in negotiations to write the screenplay for the long-in-the-works reboot.
Warner Bros. and MGM are partnering to produce and release the film with Graham King of GK Films producing. Cassidy Lange of MGM, Drew Crevello of Warners and Denis O'Sullivan of GK Films will oversee the production.
While plot details have yet to be revealed, the film will reportedly detail Lara Croft's first adventure. The long-running video game series was rebooted by Square Enix with 2013's "Tomb Raider".
"Tomb Raider" was first adapted for film with 2001's "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider" starring Angelina Jolie. The first movie grossed $274.7M worldwide, while the 2003 sequel "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life" earned a tepid $156.5M.
