The former 'Anger Management' actor says he learned about his condition four years ago, 'It's a hard three letters to absorb.'

AceShowbiz - Charlie Sheen broke his silence on the rumors about his HIV-positive diagnosis during an interview with Matt Lauer on "Today" show. The former "Anger Management" actor decided to come clean about his condition in hopes to put a stop to smear campaigns and extortions against him.
"I'm here to admit that I am in fact HIV-positive," he said. "I have to put a stop to this onslaught, this barrage of attacks and of sub-truths and very harmful and mercurial stories that are about me, threatening the health of so many others, which couldn't be further from the truth."
He was diagnosed roughly four years ago but didn't "entirely" know how he contracted the virus. "It had started with what I thought was based on this series of cluster headaches and insane migraines and sweating the bed," he remembered. "I thought I had a brain tumor. I thought it was over." Then the bombshell dropped. "It's a hard three letters to absorb. It's a turning point in one's life," he said.
The former "Two and a Half Men" star said he told "enough" people that he thought could be trusted. But "my trust turned to their treason," he said, admitting to paying them in order to keep his condition secret. The hush money, he said, was "enough to bring it into the millions."
He added, "What people forget is that's money they're taking from my children. They think it's just me. But I've got five kids and a granddaughter, you know?" Now that he comes clean, he hopes the blackmails will stop. "That's my goal. That's not my only goal. I think I release myself from this prison today," he said. Still, he's bracing himself for any potential lawsuit from his exes. "I'm sure that's next," he said.
When asked if he had knowingly passed on the virus, Charlie insisted it was "impossible." He, however, confessed to having unprotected sex after his diagnosis but "the two people I did that with were under the care of my doctor and they were completely warned ahead of time," he opened up.
Dr. Robert Huizenga who treated Charlie later appeared on the show to discuss the actor's health issue. The doctor said the actor had "undetectable level of virus in his blood" and he did not have AIDS.
