Now that Hakeem has been released by his kidnappers, Lucious and Cookie are back on their separate ways. In the next episode of "Empire", their competition continues as Cookie secretly helps her son Jamal who works on a new track and Lucious may not be happy when he finds out about it.
Meanwhile, Hakeem makes it obvious that he doesn't like Cookie's new boyfriend Laz (Adam Rodriguez). He rudely tells the concert promoter to leave his mother's office. "I don't trust him," Hakeem says to his mom, adding that she needs to be careful.
"True Love Never" airs Wednesday, November 11 at 9 P.M. on FOX. According to the synopsis, Lucious begins to strategize the ascension of Empire from record label into global music monolith, so he looks into starting a partnership with Jago (guest star Patrick Mulvey), the founder of a music streaming company.
Meanwhile, Andre has to twist his newfound values to achieve a delicate balance between his faith and his career, Hakeem begins to work with Laura to turn her into a star and Cookie sets her sights on having Lyon Dynasty be a part of an epic televised charity music event.
