AceShowbiz - Fans who can't wait until "The X-Files" revival premiere on FOX in early 2016 can get an early look at the new series. The new series will have its world premiere in Cannes on October 6, the network has announced. The first episode titled "My Struggle" will be screened at the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals at MIPCOM in Cannes, France.

"We are delighted that Fox has chosen MIPCOM for the world premiere of the return of 'The X-Files', which is one of several high-profile series being showcased exclusively at MIPCOM 2015," says Laurine Garaude, director of TV at Reed MIDEM, which organizes MIPCOM.

Four days later, on October 10, the series opener will screen at the Main Stage of the Javits Center during New York Comic Con. It will be followed by a Q&A session with series creator/executive producer Chris Carter as well as lead stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny.

Kumail Nanjiani, a big fan of the show who also lands a guest-starring role on the new series, will moderate the Q&A session.

"The X-Files" six-episode event series will debut with a two-night premiere on Sunday, January 24 and Monday, January 25 on FOX. Joel McHale also stars as Tad O'Malley, a conservative Internet news anchor who becomes an unlikely ally to Mulder, while Annabeth Gish, Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Dean Haglund, Tom Braidwood and Bruce Harwood return to reprise their respective roles.
