Vivica A. Fox is added to the cast of "Empire" season 2. According to Entertainment Weekly, the "Independence Day" actress will debut as the older sister of Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) in episode 8.

While viewers have already met Cookie's younger sister Carol (Tasha Smith), "Empire" executive producer Ilene Chaiken says, "Cookie's other family members are troublesome to say the least." Co-creator Lee Daniels previously said he was potentially interested in a spin-off showcasing Cookie's family when she was younger.
