Ryan will reprise his role as John Constantine in an episode of upcoming season 4 of 'Arrow', The CW has announced.

AceShowbiz - Constantine is officially brought back to life, although only for a short time. The CW announced at the Television Critics Association summer press tour that Matt Ryan would reprise his role as John Constantine in one episode of the upcoming season of "Arrow".

"We are thrilled to have Matt Ryan reprise the role of John Constantine on an upcoming episode of Arrow," executive producer Marc Guggenheim said. "Matt is an incredibly talented actor and his portrayal of this beloved character was always something we admired."

He added, "The introduction of magic and mysticism on the show this season has provided a truly organic opportunity for us to bring John Constantine to 'Arrow' and the CW's DC universe. It will be a well-deserved tip of the hat to all the 'Constantine' fans who were so incredibly supportive of that series."

Ryan also spread the news through his Twitter with a short video, saying, "John is coming to Starling City". He captioned the video, "The Trench Coat is being dusted off. #Constantine #Arrow @CW_Arrow @amellywood looking forward to it. #thisfall."

Constantine will appear in the fifth episode of season 4 titled "Haunted". According to the official description of the episode, Constantine will provide valuable support to Oliver (Stephen Amell) when arrows just won't suffice.

Talks about the crossover began in May when Amell offered to guest star as Oliver on "Constantine" if the show found a new home after being canceled by NBC. The supernatural series couldn't find a new home, but executive producer Wendy Mericle said in July that they were still trying to get Ryan to appear on "Arrow". "It's just a question of some political things, but also the actor's schedule. We're trying to work it out, but we don't know 100 percent if it's going to happen," he said at the time.

"Arrow" season 4 premieres Wednesday, October 7 at 8 P.M. on The CW.
