'The Elephant Man' starring Cooper won Outstanding Revival of a Play, while Helen Mirren won Outstanding Actress in a Play at the 2015 Drama Desk Awards.

AceShowbiz - "The Elephant Man", a play starring Bradley Cooper, won Outstanding Revival of a Play at Drama Desk Awards which was held at the Town Hall in New York on May 31. Cooper was also listed as nominee for Outstanding Actor in a Play. He, however, lost the award to "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" star Alex Sharp.

Off-Broadway hit "Hamilton" won big by taking seven awards including Outsanding Musical. It marked the first time an off-Broadway play has won the Drama Desk's musical award since "Little Shop of Horrors" won the trophy for the same category in 1983. "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" took six trophies for several categories including Outstanding Play and Outstanding Projection Design. "An American in Paris" won four awards, including Outstanding Choreography.

Helen Mirren defeated six other actresses to nab Outstanding Actress in a Play. She won the trophy for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in "The Audience". Meanwhile, Kristin Chenoweth won Outstanding Actress in a Musical for her play "On the 20th Century". Other acting awards went to K. Todd Freeman ("Airline Highway"), Annaleigh Ashford ("You Can't Take It With You") and Christian Borle ("Something Rotten!").

One of the leading Tony contenders for Best Musical, "Fun Home", was ineligible for Drama Desk Award as it had contended last year for its off-Broadway run.
