A collaboration with his band the Social Experiment, the free album highlights the work of trumpeter Nico 'Donnie Trumpet' Segal.

AceShowbiz - Chance the Rapper is the latest act to release a surprise album. First teased back in October and initially slated to arrive earlier this month, the rapper's "Surf" has just been made available as free download on iTunes.

The new album, however, isn't Chance's solo effort to follow up his 2013 set "Acid Rap". The project is a collaboration with his band the Social Experiment and highlights the work of trumpeter Nico Segal a.k.a. Donnie Trumpet.

"Surf" is made up of 16 tracks and features contributions from some big names in the game like B.o.B, BJ the Chicago Kid, Busta Rhymes and Janelle Monae who are credited on "Slip Slide", J. Cole on "Warm Enough", Big Sean on "Wanna Be Cool" and Erykah Badu on "Rememory".

"It's a big step for all of us all putting our heads together and letting Nico hold the reigns and carry it," Chance told Billboard of his latest release. "There's a lot of great instrumentation. A lot of input from cool writers."
