'Pitch Perfect 2' is the third soundtrack to have topped the chart in 2015, following the soundtracks of 'Empire' and 'Furious 7'.

AceShowbiz - Following the success of its parent movie, which is currently topping the North American Box Office, the soundtrack of "Pitch Perfect 2" has made its way out to No. 1 on Billboard 200. Nielsen Music reports that the album, released last week through Universal Music Enterprises, debuts atop the list with 107,000 equivalent units that included 92,000 traditional album sales.

It's the third soundtrack to reach the top spot in 2015, following the albums accompanying FOX's hit series "Empire" and the blockbuster movie "Furious 7". "Pitch Perfect 2" easily dethrones last week's first placer, Mumford & Sons' "Wilder Mind", which slips to No. 2 with 58,000.

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" soundtrack jumps from No. 6 to No. 3 with 48,000. David Guetta's "Listen" soars to No. 4 from last week's No. 30 with 43,000, thanks in large part to the discount in the Google Play store during the tracking week. Closing out the top 5 is the "Furious 7" soundtrack which rises from No. 7 with 41,000 .

At No. 6, Incubus becomes the second and last newcomer in the top 10 as their new EP "Trust Fall (Side A)" arrives with 40,000. Zac Brown Band's "Jekyll + Hyde" bows at No. 7 with 39,000. Josh Groban's "Stages" plunges six rungs to No. 8 with 38,000.

Taylor Swift stays at No. 9 as her "1989" sells another 37,000 equivalent units, while Sam Smith's "In the Lonely Hour" falls from No. 8 to No. 10 with 36,000.
