Stacey Dash took to Twitter on Thursday, April 30 to defend her controversial pay equality comments during her appearance on "The Meredith Vieira Show" in the previous day. The former "Single Ladies" star previously raised eyebrows after she said women should "stop making excuses" for not being paid as much as men.
Stacey wrote, "I am so proud that my FRIEND @meredithvieira & I have sparked an HONEST debate. NOT just a grandstanding Oscar speech," referencing Patricia Arquette's famous Oscars speech. "The 77 cents vs a dollar is based on B.S. statistics. STOP USING IT. CELEBRATE that EDUCATED women in their 20's now make more than men!"
"I DON'T CARE IF I AM THE LONE VOICE IN THE WOODS, I WILL NOT LET THE GOVERNMENT MAKE WOMEN AN ENTITLEMENT CLASS. #HOLDINGTHELINE," she added. "I'm for equality of OPPORTUNITY. NOT equality of OUTCOME. That is the FALSE PROMISE of Liberalism. It is a con on society. Hey @meredithvieira, look what we did! I love you and I respect you. Thank you for having me on the @MeredithShow! #FriendsCanDisagree."
Stacey retweeted both positive and negative postings from Twitter users regarding her controversial comments. She later posted, "In the words of that sage philosopher @JamesFrancoTV 'Haters gonna hate and ain'ters going to ain't' lol. Oh I say 'bring it on' @meredithvieira and I have started something real. A discussion! Never be scared of ideas."
She also slammed E! News for calling her "clueless."
Hey @ENews I have over 50 PEER TESTED papers debunking wage-gap. You've sited NO source. Who's the "Clueless" one? https://t.co/WTVeSxiNK3

"Really disappointed in my haters today. Nothing creative. 'Clueless' is just boring & unoriginal. 'Uncle Tom' is so 2012. #HateBetter. PRO TIP: If ur going to tell me how stupid, dumb & ignorant I am & you begin tweet w/ 'your' & not 'you're'; you've lost. #EducationMatters," she added, before concluding, "GOOD NIGHT AMERICA. It's been a great day. Thank you again @meredithvieira & the @MeredithShow for starting a #GreatDebate. Love you all!"
