Just a few days after debuting "Ghost Town" and its lyric video, Adam Lambert has finally premiered the single's official visuals. Directed by Hype Williams, the black-and-white clip arrived via YouTube on Tuesday, April 28.
The three-and-a-half-minute video opens with a glimpse of an abandoned town before Lambert emerges to sing the first few lines of the track while posing fiercely in an all-black outfit. Between scenes of him performing alone, shots of him and several people breaking into sexy and energetic dance moves in the dark flash on the screen.
"The inspiration was more like a fashion film," Lambert told MTV News of his new video. "The styling was something that I talked to Hype about in depth, like I had a lot of photographs and stuff... it was really fun because I got to get in there obviously with my own wardrobe and bring a lot of my pieces in, and then even when we were styling the dancers and the models, I got to sit there with them and help style."
He added that "retro Hollywood" stars like James Dean and Elvis Presley as well as Yves Saint Laurent's men's fashion also inspired the clip. "We threw it all in a blender creatively and just pressed 'whip' and made a big old smoothie out of it all," he continued. "And I loved what we came up with."
"Ghost Town" is the first single off Lambert's new album, "The Original High". Marking his first release under Warner Bros. Records, the follow-up to 2012's "Trespassing" is due out on June 16 and will feature collaborations with Tove Lo and Queen's Brian May.
