AceShowbiz - 2 Chainz is considering a career in politics. The rapper opens up about his desire to run for mayor of his hometown, College Park, Georgia, after getting a lot of praise for his TV debate with Nancy Grace over the legalization of marijuana.
"I'm a musician, not a politician," he told XXLMag. "I'm supposed to be running for mayor in College Park. I got everybody wishing. I'm really gonna do this little mayor thing in College Park. I'm just trying to make sure I have the right qualifications."
In a different interview with the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, 2 Chainz said, "I am looking forward to running at the end of this year or next year. [I'm] waiting to see if I meet all of the qualifications."
However, Mayor Jack Longino, a 20-year incumbent, is not worried about the potential political threat because he doesn't believe 2 Chainz meets the requirements to run for the office. If the rapper "actually lives in College Park and wants to run and signs up, we'll let the people decide," he told the Daily Beast.
