Mandy Moore and her husband of five years Ryan Adams are divorcing. Representatives for the duo released a joint statement on Friday, January 23, saying, "Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage of almost 6 years. It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time."
According to Radar Online, the "Tangled" voice cast member filed her divorce papers in Los Angeles while Ryan was in New York for an appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers". Mandy cited irreconcilable differences as the reason of their split. She is seeking for spousal support from the "Gimme Something Good" crooner. The "I Wanna Be with You" singer listed the date of their separation as to be determined.
Back in December, Mandy was seen without her wedding band in a selfie she posted on Instagram.
Ryan stunned a DJ of an Australian radio show back in September after he ended a phone interview when asked about his marriage to Mandy. "I just don't share at all about my private life," he told the DJ before pulling the plug.
He later explained via Buzzfeed, "OK, so I just hung up 'cause I was on the radio getting asked about my wife. I was really nice about it the first time, and I'm sorry, but I won't repeat myself. The deal is this: I'm a private person and I'll be a gentleman and say I'm not talking about my marriage ever. I'll never talk about it. Ever."
"I'll talk about rescue cats for a few seconds," he added, "But even there I don't want to talk about my pets. If I have children I'm not going to discuss that with anyone ever. I'll suggest it once and then I'm going to hang up."
