Formed less than a year ago, the One Direction tribute band calls themselves the 'most authentic One Direction lookalikes, soundalikes and impersonators on the market.'

AceShowbiz - A %cOne Direction% tribute band has drawn criticism from Directioners. The hasthtag #STOPyouarenot1D trended on Twitter on Sunday, January 4 as the loyal 1D fans posted insults and threats to One and Only Direction who calls themselves the "most authentic One Direction lookalikes, soundalikes and impersonators on the market."

The tribute band, whose members do look similar to %cHarry Styles%, %cZayn Malik%, %cNiall Horan%, %cLouis Tomlinson% and %cLiam Payne%, was formed less than a year ago. Directioners weren't happy to know that the impersonators had played covers of One Direction songs for screaming fans at nightclubs and Christmas parties across the U.K.

One angry fan tweeted, "When you try to look like Harry Styles but end up like a horse #STOPyouarenot1D OMFG!!!! YES!!!" Another added, "When you ask your mom for gucci and she bring home some $1 lookalike #STOPyouarenot1D."

One Direction hasn't commented on the tribute band or on their fans' harsh comments. Meanwhile, One and Only Direction's manager Scott Garvie recently told U.K.'s Daily Record, "First of all we understand we are a tribute band and we take it as lighthearted and try to have fun... There is a small minority of fans around the world who don't grasp or understand the concept of a tribute being a celebration of them and their music."

Responding to the negative reaction the band got, he added, "This highlights how much online trolling and bullying there is and it is something us as a group may look at trying to support and do something for charity its been quite severe and it worried me to think that if a young person got two or three of the tweets we got they'd have to be strong to deal with it."
