When "Modern Family" returns next year, the Dunphys will reflect on their lives, but not because it's a new year. The Dunphys including Manny have a near death experience while driving out to get breakfast, causing everyone to reevaluate their lives. In a preview for the new episode, they are seen screaming in fear as Phil is trying to control their spinning car.
Claire resolves to be more fun and less uptight, which is why she is seen roller skating and falling hard on the street. Haley and Alex are involved in a physical fight, but then agree not to fight anymore. Meanwhile, for an unknown reason, Phil and Cam are taking a camel in a car.
Also in "The Day We Almost Died", Manny refuses to ever ride in a car again, Luke wants to check off his bucket list, Phil decides to be a take action type of guy and the rest of the family has to bear the brunt of all the new attitudes. The episode airs Wednesday, January 7 at 9/8c on NBC.
