A few names are being considered for another key role in "Doctor Strange". According to a new report by Latino Review, Morgan Freeman, Bill Nighy and Ken Watanabe have all been approached to play the Ancient One.

The Ancient One is the previous Sorcerer Supreme who's also the mentor of Doctor Strange. He first trains but then ends up rejecting Baron Mordo, a character which has been long rumored to be the villain in the upcoming Marvel movie.

Currently, it's unknown which one of the three actors is the frontrunner for the role. Freeman and Watanabe are no strangers to starring in superhero flicks. The former appears as Lucius Fox alongside the latter's Ra's Al Ghul in Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins".

"Doctor Strange" is directed by Scott Derrickson based on a script by Jon Spaihts. Benedict Cumberbatch is already attached to play the neurosurgeon who after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions. The film is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on November 4, 2016.
