Angelina Jolie recorded a video on Friday evening, December 12 to inform her fans that she had chickenpox. Angelina said she would not be able to attend upcoming "Unbroken" premieres in the next few days.

Sporting a white tank top, the "Maleficent" actress said, "I just wanted to be clear and honest about why I will be missing the 'Unbroken' events in the next few days, which is that I found out last night that I have chickenpox."

"So, I will be home itching and missing everyone, and I can't believe it, because this film means so much to me," she continued and laughed, "I just can't believe it. But such is life, there it is. And send everyone my love, and hope everything goes well."

Universal Studios Entertainment shared the video on Facebook, confirming that Angelina would be "withdrawing from public events scheduled over the coming days." The studio wrote, "We all wish Angelina a speedy recovery and look forward to her returning to her work very soon. She is in very good spirits, considering after two years of hard work, she will not be there the night it finally premieres."

The studio said Angelina's husband Brad Pitt and their children would attend the premiere on her behalf on Monday night. "Brad's family has flown in for the occasion, and are all looking forward to seeing the film," the studio added.

"You have to laugh at the timing," Angelina said as quoted by the studio, "I was sure nothing could stop me from supporting 'Unbroken'. I am heartbroken to miss our premiere, most of all the chance to be there with Louie's family, Phil's daughter Karen, veterans and all the guests who are coming."
