Mellie continues struggling to grapple with the death of her son in the next episode of "Scandal". In a preview for the upcoming outing, the White House is forced to clear up the situation after a picture of her encamping on Jerry's gravesite emerges on newspaper with the headline "Madam First Crazy".

Meanwhile, with Olivia already back in Washington, it's only a matter of time before Fitz meets her again. Based on the promo video, the dreaded reunion is happening soon and the situation couldn't be more awkward.

"The State of the Union" airs Thursday, October 2 at 9/8c on ABC, followed by new series from Shondaland, "How to Get Away with Murder". According to official synopsis for the episode, "in order for Fitz to make the biggest impact with his State of the Union address on gun control, Cyrus sets out to recruit a power couple (Mary McCormick and Josh Randall) who are influential on the issue. Meanwhile, Mellie's personal struggle gets national attention."

Just hours before the return of "Scandal", the cast of the show stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" for an interview. They also played a game where they guessed each other's secret and Kerry Washington brought out new cast member Portia de Rossi to surprise host Ellen DeGeneres.
