The album, which features productions from Danger Mouse, Paul Epworth and Ryan Tedder among others, will be available exclusively on iTunes until its official October 14 release date.

AceShowbiz - U2 did partner with Apple for the release of their album. Days after denying rumors claiming they'd team up with the computer giant for the new project, the band appeared at the Apple iPhone 6 launch event in Cupertino, California on Tuesday, September 9 and surprised the world by announcing that their highly-anticipated full length was already available on iTunes for free.

Titled "Songs of Innocence", the album features 11 songs including its lead single "The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)" that the band performed at the event. For the LP, which was originally planned to be released earlier this year, Bono and Co. worked with hitmakers like Danger Mouse with Paul Epworth, Ryan Tedder, Declan Gaffney and Flood.

The album will stay free exclusively for 500 million iTunes users until its officially released on October 14. It's also available for streaming on Beats Music.

"Songs of Innocence", however, will not be eligible for inclusion on Billboard 200 next week because free or giveaway albums do not count toward sales tracked by Nielsen SoundScan. Its sales will count after Interscope Records makes the album available to all retailers next month.

Additionally, the album will not be eligible for the next Grammy Awards. "The album must be commercially available in order for it to be eligible, and the official release date determines its eligibility in a particular awards year," a Grammys rep told Billboard. "In this case, the album is commercially available on Oct. 14, 2014, so it will be eligible for consideration for the 58th Grammy Awards."
