The attachment of Marvel one-shot "Agent Carter" in the Blu-ray release of "Iron Man 3" prompted the rumor that the studio was mulling over a plan to have a standalone TV series for Agent Carter. A new report emerges that the project is officially on the go with Hayley Atwell on board.

Atwell is going to reprise her role as Agent Peggy Carter in "Captain America: The First Avenger" TV spin-off, U.K.'s Mirror reports. The British actress has allegedly signed up for the major deal and will start work soon for a premiere at the end of the year.

"This is a massive deal for both Hayley and Marvel comic fans," a source told Mirror. "It's Marvel's major project of 2014, and it will be a big budget production. Hayley is absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity and is incredibly grateful to Marvel fans who have basically been campaigning for a spin-off show for the past six months. It means moving to LA for six months but her friends and family are all behind her, and this is a huge opportunity."

In the one-shot which was released in September 2013, Carter went on an unauthorized solo mission a year after "The First Avenger" ended. Atwell said back in October, "The one-shot was so successful, the fanbase were like, 'We want more of Peggy!' I think Marvel probably take that very seriously, and it's certainly something I would be a part of doing. I'd be interested to show different sides of Peggy."

There has been no official announcement from Marvel yet. The news came a few weeks after Atwell completed the filming of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".
