Although Abby Elliott has left "Saturday Night Live" and lost her part on "Ben and Kate", it doesn't mean that her career is over. The daughter of former "SNL" cast member Chris Elliott has recently scored a role on hit TV series "How I Met Your Mother".

Executive producer Craig Thomas exclusively confirms to Entertainment Weekly about the casting. Abby will take the plunge, playing a girl named Janeane in the upcoming eighth season of "HIMYM" that is going to premiere this coming September 24.

Craig gushes, "We're thrilled to have the hilarious Abby Elliott joining us in an arc as Janeane, the craziest girl the HIMYM gang has ever encountered. And the strange, inexplicable phenomenon is: the crazier Janeane gets, the more attractive one of the gang finds her." The producer teases further, "It doesn't ends well."

Abby had been with "SNL" for 4 consecutive seasons and was best known for her Anna Faris and Angelina Jolie antics which truly made her marked among "SNL" fans. She will appear on "HIMYM" in an episode that will air sometime in 2013.
