AceShowbiz - Alyson Hannigan, best known for her role as Lily in "How I Met Your Mother", has pitched a spin-off idea that would center around her on-screen husband, Marshall Eriksen, played by Jason Segel. Hannigan revealed that she envisions a premise that would disregard the original show's ending and explore an alternative reality where Marshall and Lily never had children.
Despite her enthusiasm for her reboot idea, Hannigan admitted that she has not watched the spin-off series, "How I Met Your Father". She explained that watching the spinoff made her emotional because it reminded her of the original show's set and the bond she shared with her former co-stars.
"It just made me sad because I'm like, oh, that's the same set," Hannigan said. "I just couldn't. It just made me sad."
Hannigan also shared her experience of filming the final season of "HIMYM" and the emotional farewell she shared with her castmates. "I just remember being pretty emotional during it because there were a lot of lasts. We all took the year to really appreciate all the moments that, we've had so many of," she said.
Despite her reservations about the spinoff, Hannigan acknowledged that she should have watched the episode featuring her real-life husband, Alexis Denisof, reprising his role as Sandy Rivers from HIMYM on "How I Met Your Father".
"I should have probably watched that episode," she said. "I just couldn't."
The finale of "How I Met Your Father" sparked discussion among fans due to a timeline inconsistency regarding Robin's relationship status. In the original series, Robin eventually ends up with Ted, but in the spin-off, she appears to be single, leaving fans to wonder about the fate of their relationship.
