Silent movie 'The Artist' receives the most nominations with six and its studio The Weinstein Company takes in 12 nods in total.

AceShowbiz - The 69th Golden Globes puts silent movie "The Artist" on the spotlight by giving it six nods including the category Best Film Comedy or Musical. Coming in second place with five nominations is "The Descendants", starring George Clooney who receives the Best Actor nomination for the Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama.
Clooney's mate, Brad Pitt, is going to give the actor a competition in the same category for his role as baseball general manager Billy Beane in "Moneyball", which is pocketing four nominations. Clooney has been nominated eight times before and won twice while Pitt has been nominated four times and won once.
Meanwhile, the Best Actress in Drama category has Meryl Streep for "The Iron Lady" and Rooney Mara for "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" among others. Streep has won seven times out of 25 nominations while Mara is celebrating her first nomination.
The Golden Globe Awards, which will announce the winners on January 15, 2012 in a live broadcast by NBC, give good prediction of the nominees of the Academy Awards which will be held in February.
